A while back I did some fabric silhouettes for my living room. I liked the fabric, but didn't love it. After seeing fat quarters on sale, I decided there was no good reason not to slap some flashy new fabric up there. The fusible web I used for the silhouettes is such that it doesn't really fuse permanently, a trait that would be highly annoying in any other application. However, it made it very easy to peel them off and iron them on to the new fabric. I still don't think I have found the 'perfect' fabric, especially the middle one, but for now its new and different.

Child's Artwork Pendant: Round Two
Here is the second attempt at making pendants. This time, I tried adding small beads for something extra. Also, I had my son draw on a colored scrapbook paper. I realized that one benefit to using the 'real' stuff (Diamond Glaze) is that it probably stays clear despite being thick. The pendant on the left has an extra layer of glaze and its started to get a yellow cast to it.

Child's Artwork Pendant
This pendant is made for a Christmas present. I used a pendant blank, a small drawing from my son, and some glaze stuff from the scrap-booking section at the craft store. (Technically speaking, you really should use a resin glaze, like Diamond glaze, but I couldn't find it locally and wanted to try this stuff out. It works almost as well as I think the real stuff should.) I am going to try making a few more, so I am sure I will learn a few tricks as I go along.

Auntie Crafts
Every time I see my 5-year-old nephew (which is not nearly enough) I say, "You promised you wouldn't grow anymore!" and he usually responds with giggles and a sly smile and then says, "I'm gonna be taller than you, but I'll still love you when I'm bigger." Ok, so if that's not absolutely enough to make me just melt into a puddle, when I saw him this past weekend, he bestowed a collection of pipe cleaner bangles that he thoughtfully made just for me complete with beads, bells and adjustability! Have I mentioned that I love, love, LOVE, LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE being an Auntie?
