Mom's Birthday Apron

I modified a pattern from Joel Dewberry's "Sewn Spaces" book for my wonderful MIL. I was so excited to finally sew something for her and I love how it turned out. I used a vintage looking Michael Miller print with contrasting red fabric. I couldn't resist and also added white piping....what doesn't look better with piping???

Zippered Pencil Pouch

I made this pencil pouch for my son. I used Noodlehead's tutorial here. She has a lot of awesome tutorials over there for various zippered pouches, wallets, etc. I added piping between the different fabrics, and made sure the horse's face was on the zipper tab just for fun. The bottom part is from an old pair of jeans. :)

Shirt to Dress

Remember the shirt skirt? Here is what I did with the rest of Dad's shirt. I used a commercial pattern, and just treated the front button panel as one piece. The bottom band is the same gray suiting I used for the skirt. To add a little flair, I used lavender piping around the top and between the dress and the bottom band.
